Mason Jar Cozy

I wanted to show you an inexpensive gift idea...Mason jar cozies.
Here is the tutorial.
You'll need doilies, jars, tea lights, and starch.
I used this liquid starch, but I think there are homemade versions.  This didn't cost much at Wal Mart.  Choose a doily that works with the jar you have on hand.  You don't even have to use Mason jars..try last night's spaghetti jar!  I think it looks best when the doily covers at least 2/3 of the jar.
Then, cover your jar with plastic kitchen wrap so you don't have to clean the starch off of it later.  Then, soak the doily in the liquid starch, squeeze out the excess, and drape over the upturned jar.  Position it the way you want and then let it dry.  This can take up to two days depending on the thickness of the doily.
When it's dry, remove the plastic wrap from the jar and slip in a tea light or candle.  You're done!  They look really nice at nighttime with the candle lit.  The intricate doily makes awesome patterns on the walls for a romantic look.

If you get tired of it later, all you have to do is wash the doily and the starch comes out.  These could also be used as vases, a New Year's party table centerpiece, weddings and more.  Let me know if you make some and how they turned out!  Thanks for spending time with me today, Jean
